Can I pre order items that have not yet been released?
Yes, simply order in the same way you would order a product that is in stock.

Most pre-ordered lines will be delivered on its release date.

We will not take payment for a pre-ordered item until it has been dispatched.

Can I order an out of stock title?

Yes, simply order in the same way you would order a product that is in stock.

The availability of an item is clearly displayed on the product page.

Most stock is replenished daily, so your item should be back in stock and dispatched soon. On some occasions, however, special order items can take up to 6 weeks to arrive from the manufacturer.

We will not take payment for an out of stock line until it is dispatched.

What happens if I order pre-releases or out of stock titles in the same order as in stock lines?
In this instance we will dispatch all available lines as soon as possible and any out of stock lines or pre-orders will be dispatched when stock is received from the manufacturer.

Can I cancel my order?
You can cancel any line that has not yet been dispatched as long as it isn't a firm sale, print on demand or non returnable title. If you log in to your account, click on "outstanding orders" and then "view order items" the cancellation option is next to any line you are able to cancel.

If the item you wish to cancel has already been dispatched, please refer to our returns procedure.

What if I have forgotten my password?
Don’t worry, you can simply click on ‘Forgot Your Password’ in the login area we will send you an email containing your decrypted password.

Yes, we will send you a confirmation email after you have completed the checkout process.

We will also send you a second email when your order has been dispatched.

Delivery
How much is delivery?
We are pleased to offer free delivery on all orders over £15, for orders below £15 delivery is based on weight instead of just one standard delivery charge; to calculate delivery charges for your order you will need to be logged in to your account.

How long will my order take?

Most orders arrive within 1-5 working days (does not include bank holidays or weekends). Please allow 10 days in case of any postal delays that may be out of our control.

We will send you an email when your order has been dispatched.

Delivery times will differ for pre-orders or out of stock items.

Returns
Can I return my items?
If you wish to return an item you will first need to obtain a returns authorisation number. To do this please telephone us on 0845 259 0175 or email us at sales@bookstoredirect.co.uk.

What reasons do you accept for returning a product?

You can return a product if it is Faulty, Damaged, Sent in Error by us or unwanted, unless it is a firm sale, print on demand or non returnable title. All product details will include this information if applicable.

How long do I have to return a product?
Faulty product
You have 28 days from the day you receive your order to return a faulty product.

Damaged product or product sent in error by us
You have 7 days from the day you receive the order to return a damaged or sent in error product.

Unwanted product
You have 7 days from the day you receive the order to return an unwanted product.

How do I return my goods?
1) Obtain a returns authorisation number by contacting us on 0845 259 0175 or emailing us at sales@bookstoredirect.co.uk.

2) Securely pack your item in its original packaging and include your returns authorisation number and the original invoice. Any unwanted or sent in error items must be unopened.

3) Return your item to the below address. We recommend that you send your item via a recorded delivery method as we are unable to refund or exchange an item that has been lost in the post.

When will I receive my refund?
Your refund will be processed as soon as we receive your product back.

Any faulty or damaged goods will be thoroughly checked before being processed. If the product is found not to be faulty or damaged the item will be returned back to you and the customer will carry any additional postage charges.

Please allow up to 21 days for the refund to be received. This could be longer at peak times of the year.

Delivery costs for unwanted items will not be refunded.

Why do you need my email address?
In order to make a purchase through the Bookstore Direct website you need to register for an account. When you register you will be required to provide information about yourself including your email address. We will use this information to acknowledge your order and to communicate with you if there is any issue regarding fulfillment of your order. We will not send you any unsolicited materials if you choose to opt out of our newsletters, which you can do so from your account area. Is it safe to use my credit card on Bookstore Direct?

We use the latest encryption technology to ensure that all personal information is protected to the highest standard. Transactional information could include credit or debit card details and your personal contact information together with any other names and addresses, email addresses or purchasing history. If you have given your consent prior to entering the details required for order processing, our web site will retain your Bookstore Direct account history. Each time you login to place an order you will be asked for your credit or debit card details as these details are not stored on our site.
